Men's:
Heilongjiang stopped the PLA winning streak. Kong won his 3 outings, including the Golden Ball match over Wang Hao 5-2. Wang and Zhan won their singles to account for the 2 PLA points.
Luneng beat Beijing 3-1 to continue its winning streak. Ma Lin and Liu Guozheng stayed red-hot for Luneng, and Ma/Zhang Yong had developed into a steady doubles team.
Shanghai lost 1-3, again, to Nanjing. Tianjin lost by the same score to Sichuan. Chen Junji won his first singles match for Sichuan in this tie. Hao Shuai continued his excellent performance by winning his singles and therefore scoring the only point for Tianjin.
Shaaxi won its second tie in a row, in a surprisingly easy match with Hebei. Leung Ch-Yan won his first singles match by beating Hong Kong teammate Li Jing. Liu and Yan won their singles to seal the victory.
In a close match between two top teams, Zhejiang emerged victorious, beating Guangdong 3-2. Qin win the first singles over Cheung Yuk, and Chen Jian won the second to even things up. Chiang Peng Lung, playing for the first time for Guangdong, won 3-0 over Jin Enhua. Cheung/Jin then won the critical doubles 3-2 (17-15 in the 5th game) to force the Golden Ball match. Chen Jian won that match 5-2 over Qin to give the visiting team a sweet victory.
Women's:
Hebei won its 9th tie, beating Beijing 3-1. Zhang Yining scored the only point for Beijing, beating Wang Tingting 3-1 in this tie. Jiangsu upset Tianjin 3-2, with Fan Ying winning her singles, and then the Golden Ball match over Li Nan.
Guangdong beat Sichuan 3-1, and Cao Xingni again won her singles. The penholder has been playing very well, since joining the national team after her sensational performance at the National Games last year. PLA handed Shanxi its 9th loss in a row. Shanghai continued its success with a 3-1 win over Henan. Gao Jun upset the youngster Guo Yue 3-2 in this tie.
Liaoning hung on to beat Luneng, although Lin Ling, fresh from her Italian Open victory, upset Wang Nan 3-2. Wang surprisingly does not have the best record in the Super League; that honor goes to Hebei's Niu Jianfeng.
