World Collegiate TT Championship Results

- Chiang Peng-Lung was upset by China's Xi Minjie in men's
singles, and did not even make it to the round of 8. Xi
Minjie has no ITTF ranking, but plays for the Shanghai
Super-League team as an occasional player (he has only
made one appearance this season).
- Wang Liqin was upset by Taiwan's Chuan Chi-Yuan in the
semifinals, losing in 3 games (-19, -19, -18). Chuan also
beat China's Zhang Yong in an earlier round.
- Liu Guozheng won the men's singles title by easily
beating Chuan in 3 games.
- Taiwan swept the top 2 places in men's doubles. They beat
Chinese teams in the semifinals, in close matches.
Chiang/Chang beat Liu/Zhang 22-20 in the 3rd and deciding
game of their semifinal match-up, coming back from a 4-10
deficit in that game. Chiang/Chang defeated their
teammates for the gold.
- China's Cheng Hongxia beat teammate Sun Jin to win the
women's singles title.
- Wang Liqin and Sun Jin won the mixed doubles title.
- China swept the gold and silver medals in women's
doubles.
- Taiwan ended up with 2 golds (MT, MD) and 2 silvers (MS,
MD), and China won all the other gold and silver medals.
