Round 7

Men's:

Sichuan lost again, this time to Beijing 1-3. Wang Jianjun scored the only point for Sichuan, over Tang Peng. Chen Junji had yet to win a singles match. Shanghai stopped its skid by beating Shaanxi 3-1. This time Guo Jinhao beat Yan Sen in singles, and partnered with Wang, beat Liu/Yan in doubles to seal the victory.

Luneng continued its winning streak by rolling over Hebei 4-0. Nanjing upset PLA in a 3-1 victory. Wang Hao won his singles, but Zhan Jian lost to Chen Qi, and the Wang/Zhan doubles pair lost to Shan/Chen.

Zhejiang, playing without Cheung Yuk, lost for the second time, in a tight 2-3 match to Tianjin. Hao Shuai was the hero for Tianjin, winning all his 3 appearances, including a 5-4 Golden Ball win over Chen Jian. The critical match was the 3rd singles when Jin Enhua lost to Hao, with Zhejiang already up 2-0 at that point.

Guangdong scored a key victory over Heilongjiang to stay on top of the standings with Luneng. Qin won his singles and doubles match, and Tan Ruiwu came through with a 3-0 win over Zhang Peng for that critical point. Qin and Zhang Chao win the 4th doubles match over Kong/Xu Hui for the win.

Women's:

Hebei played its first Golden Ball match, with Niu Jianfeng beating Gao Xi 5-2 to clinch the victory over Luneng. Niu lost her first singles match of the season to Jiang Huajun 1-3. Shanghai again won a 3-2 tie, over Tianjin , with Gao Jun winning the singles and Golden Match, the latter over Li Nan. Sichuan also won a 3-2 tie, over the winless Shanxi club.

PLA upset Beijing 3-2, and Zhang Yining was upset in the Golden Ball match by Wang Yuegu. Guangdong scored the last 3-2 win of this round over Jiangsu, and Cao Xingni was the hero, winning both the singles and Golden Ball match.

All 6 ties in this round were determined by the Golden Ball match.
