It is largely overlooked that inadequate design of the organization of data architecture contributes to this disparity.  In this two-hour presentation, HoTech Corp’s Principal Ho-Chun Ho will discuss typical models of data architecture organizations, the pros and cons of each type of organization, the concept of federation governance and local autonomy, and the roadmap to establish data architecture in a federated manner based on real-life experience. Despite our best intentions, it is the reality in modern enterprises that different parts of an organization use different systems to gather, store, and deliver critical data. Only by combining the information from various systems can an organization realize the full value of these disparate data sources. There are many mechanisms to integrate data: data layer integration, data access layer integration, application-specific solutions, application-integration frameworks, workflow or business process integration frameworks, digital libraries with portal-style integration, search-engine-oriented integration, data warehousing, and database federation. When architecting data in support of any of these integration options data architects often face a tough decision-- we need to choose between consolidating data and federating data. HoTech Corp’s 2004 Asian tour
We are excited that HoTech Corp is invited to visit Taiwan again. In 2002, we joined SuperPoll, a Taiwan based CRM and Data mining software company, to conduct two seminars in Taipei, Taiwan on July 16 and 18. Data Mining Guru Michael Berry and HoTech Corp’s principal consultant Ho-Chun Ho spoke to the members of the Insurance Institute of the Republic of China and other leading Taiwanese corporations about Data Mining for CRM and Data Architecture for CRM. We also visited Fudan University and a few other corporations in Shanghai, China. We expect the tour this year to be another great success. Please come back for more up-to-date information.
