Dry Creek? More like Wet Creek.
On Saturday, Doug and I biked Garin/Dry Creek. From his house, we went up Mission Blvd to south Hayward. We entered Dry Creek at the May Road staging area and rode up Ridge Loop Trail. It turns out that all of the creeks in Garin/Dry Creek were full of water. We planned on crossing into the passageways around Jordan Pond, but we were block by running water over the trail. In any case, we headed north again towards Garin Woods. Garin Woods is actually really nice, with a lot of trees in the style you can find in the hilly preserves on the western side of the bay. Completing the loop, we decided to take Newt Pond Trail up to the High Ridge Loop Trail. Of course, the Newt Pond Trail runs directly through a stream and I ended up dunking my shoe in it when fording it carrying my bike. After a brutal climb up the ridge, we finally zoomed our way back down. Afterwords, we headed back on Mission Blvd. Total time: ~5 hours. My legs and back were sore for the next 3 days.
