new computer, other upgrades

Old news, but back in July, I built a new computer. I was trying to out budget a budget computer. Let see how I did:

Intel Dual Core E5200 + Biostar gf710p-m7s combo - $90 - $15 MIR (rebate not received yet)
4GB PNY DDR2 800 - $45 - $20 MIR (rebate received)
Antec Earthwatts 380W - $42
Hitachi 640GB Deskstar - $60
CoolerMaster Elite 341 mATX case - $40

Total: $277-$35 = $242
Total out of pocket: $303.75 - $35

I took the dvd rom drive out of my old computer to install Ubuntu 9.04, although in the future I plan to not have any optical drive and use usb installs.
At the time, a similar computer from a manufacturer would have cost ~$400 with windows, but now in september, a similar system would cost ~$299. So not too bad for a July build, but not that great now.

In anycase, I also upgraded my chair to a Haworth task chair, and upgraded the monitor to a dell 2209WA.

Monument Peak - failure

Finally ocf is back up. Here are a couple of pics of a hike I went on with my sister and my cousin like a month ago.

We planned on going to Monument Peak, but ran out of time, and stopped at the bear tree.
