An innovative AND successful CNS focused company with proprietary technology supporting the discovery of therapeutic agents is looking for a dynamic leader who will oversee the scientific operations related to internal and external drug discovery. He/she will develop and implement the overall discovery strategy for the company and will supervise the expansion of staff and infrastructure to support those aims. Working closely with the CEO, this person will help promote the company, evaluate appropriate collaborations and partnerships, and establish short and long term goals for the company, among other responsibilities.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in pharmacology with a minimum of 10 years drug discovery experience in industry and the appropriate management experience as well as an established reputation within the scientific community. An excellent understanding of preclinical research, drug development and clinical pharmacology is essential.

VP CLINICAL DEVELOPMENT - PAIN & INFLAMMATION
Few innovative pain medications have been developed in the past decades, yet the need is great. An emerging biotechnology company is developing new and novel treatments for pain and inflammation. You could play a key role in introducing much needed therapeutics to suffering populations. In this influential role you will report directly to the CEO and be responsible for all aspects of clinical development. Among other responsibilities you will design clinical trials, interpret clinical data and establish an exceptional clinical team. This role will allow you to accelerate the development of compounds and to explore their potential use in various patient populations. An exciting pipeline of novel analgesics and anti-inflammatory agents exists.
Qualifications: To be considered one should have an MD with at least 10 years of industry experience in the area of clinical trials / clinical affairs focused on the development of analgesics and anti-inflammatory agents. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required in addition to prior experience attending FDA meetings. Board certification in anesthesiology and/or experience of clinical practice in critical care and pain management would be an advantage.

This position involves the drafting and prosecution of pharmaceutical
and biotechnology applications (U.S. and international) and
counseling on a variety of intellectual property issues.
In addition, the position involves performing and overseeing
a range of the other legal matters pertaining to the organization,
including legal policies, agreements, intellectual property
matters (patents, trademarks and copyrights) and coordinating
all legal matters handled by outside counsel.
The primary duties include:
- Writing, filing, and prosecuting patents.
- Working with Research and Development personnel,
particularly the chemistry teams, to develop and protect
Company inventions.
- Interact with other parties (Corporations,
Academia, Research Institutes, etc.) to secure licenses
to novel IP needed by Company to extend its patent portfolio
and facilitate its business plans.
- Managing agreement and
IP issues for company partnered programs.
Qualifications
At least two to five years experience in intellectual
property/legal in the pharmaceutical industry. Requires
registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark
Office. A background in organic chemistry is required
(advanced degree preferred) as well as experience drafting
and prosecuting small molecule inhibitor patent applications.

who can plan, direct and build for the future. An
