MR. GAMES*
& Co
IACTA ALEA ESTO!
Who are we?
Mr. Games & Co. is a sophisticated and
discriminating roleplaying group. It consists of college-educated
professionals,
mid-20s to late-30s.
- Mr. Games himself (Tom, our member
emeritus) runs the Arms
and Influence blog. ("So,
if you're not Mr. Games, who are you?")
- And then, of course, there's Mr. Tippy
(AKA "that damned monkey"), our trans-genre/dimensional mascot and
fourth
member (along with you, Gary
Gygax, and Steve Jackson) of
the
Tribunal.

Where & when do we play?
We meet weekly Sundays ~3-8PM, in San Francisco or
Oakland. We GM in rotation, usually 2-4 months at a stretch.
Do we have any openings?
We are not currently (10JUL06) looking for any players. If
you're
interested in getting on our waiting list, however, please contact
us.
Whom do we want?
We look for mature roleplayers with good character- and
plot-development skills, who will add to our stories and everyone's
enjoyment, rather than power-gamers, rules-lawyers, combat monsters,
munchkins, or gloomcookies. (You know who you are, and if that's how
you like to play, that's great, but you won't like our games.)
Ideally, you should have decent social skills and be able talk about
something other than gaming and general geekery. Yes, we're geeks and
proud of it, but we also have lives. Four of us are married or
cohabitate, and all of us have other, diverse non-gaming interests and
friends.
How do you join?
To make sure our gaming styles and expectations are compatible,
we like prospective players to have at least one face-to-face meeting
with some of us, and to go through a trial game before joining the game
"officially." If you're the kind of people we're interested in, you'll
probably want us to prove ourselves as well.
If you are interested in us (and we haven't scared you off),
drop
us an email, and briefly describe:
- Your favorite experience as a GM
- Your favorite experience as a PC
- Your favorite character
- The one thing you've truly blown as
a GM
We look forward to hearing from you!

If I'm not Mr. Games, who am I? (AKA "The
Vanity and Superfluous Links Section")
I'm Chris, same one listed above.
I've been gaming for over 20
years, yet despite that I'm married, bathe regularly, and am within
a reasonable margin of my target weight. Somehow I got playtest credits
on GURPS
Arabian Nights. During the week, I'm an
international-award-winning technical writer for a financial software company. I hold a
BA in Classical Languages from UC Irvine , and
an MA in Latin from the
University of Georgia (thesis: Vindex Libertatis: Civil
Liberties at the End of the Roman Republic). In my other spare time
I practice aikido
and iaido, ski,
scuba dive, rant
about libertarianism, and make beer, cider, and mead. I'm also
an
ordained minster of the Universal Life
Church
and the Beer Church. But I can't sing worth a damn.
Shameless (and unremunerated) plug section

With apologies to those involved, or the
scattered remains
thereof.
